kandi X-RAY | slow Summary

slow is a Shell library typically used in Networking applications. slow has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Permissive License and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.

This bash script offers quick shortcuts to simulate slower network connections. It is useful when you need to simulate a wireless network on a Linux network server, especially when you are using a virtual machine guest on your local machine or in the cloud. If you assign more than one network interface to a virtual guest, you could run slow on one of the interfaces, so that it you can switch between fast and slow connections by switching the IP address endpoint. Slow requires Linux and the tc suite of traffic control tools. See the [Cisco Global Cloud Index Supplement] for statistics on bandwidth and latency for countries all over the world.

            1. Use MailItem.Recipients collection.
            2. See #1 and check for each recipient's Recipient.Type property equal olCC ( =2)
            3. Of course - set the MailItem.Categpries property. Don't forget to call MailItem.Save
            4. Use the MailItem.SenderEmailAddress. For the sent on behalf of address, read the PR_SENT_REPRESENTING_EMAIL_ADDRESS MAPI property. Access it using MailItem.PropertyAccessor.GetProperty("http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/proptag/0x0065001F")

Can I free mallocs that are being generated in every step of a recursion in C?
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 20:53

I am making a simulation with C (for perfomance) that (currently) uses recursion and mallocs (generated in every step of the recursion). The problem is that I am not being able to free the mallocs anywhere in the code, without having the wrong final output. The code consist of two functions and the main function:

You're supposed to free memory right after the last time it will be used. In your program, after the while loop in recursion, Energy isn't used again, so you should free it right after that (i.e., right before return event_counter;).

            1. Get the objects in a named list (dplyr::lst)
            2. Convert the named list to a tibble - enframe
            3. unnest the list column
            4. Extract the substring from the 'name', convert it to upper case

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 16:27
            The Problem

Basically, the problem at hand is that rodio::Decoder::new consumes the value which it reads from (well, actually it is already consumed by BufReader::new). So, if you have a loop or a closure that can be called multiple times, you have to come up with a fresh value each time. This what File::open does in your first code snipped.

In your second code snipped, you only create a File once, and then try to consume it multiple times, which Rust's ownership concept prevents you from doing.

Also notice, that using reference is sadly not really an option with rodio since the decoders must be 'static (see for instance the Sink::append trait bound on S).

            The Solution

If you think your file system is a bit slow, and you want to optimize this, then you might actually want to read the entire file up-front (which File::open doesn't do). Doing this should also provide you with a buffer (e.g. a Vec) that you can clone, and thus allows to repeatedly create fresh values that can be consumed by the Decoder. Here is an example doing this:

Drawing to a texture in Unity is very slow
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 08:58

I have been learning Unity for the last few weeks in order to create a simple ant simulation. The way I was rendering everything was writing to a texture the size of the camera in the Update function. It works, but problem is that it is extremely slow, getting only around 3-4 FPS doing so. What could be done to speed it up? Maybe a completely different way of rendering?

Here is the code of a simple test where some Ants just move around in random directions. I have the AntScript.cs attached to the camera with a texture under a Canvas where everything is being written to.

In general instead of using Texture2D.SetPixel on individual pixels rather use Texture2D.GetPixels and Texture2D.SetPixels on the entire image (or the section you changed).

This is already way more efficient!

Then using Texture2D.GetPixels32 and Texture2D.SetPixels32 which do use raw byte color format (0 to 255 instead of 0f to 1f) is even faster!

Seems to be a prime case for fancy indexing (advanced indexing).

Something like this should do the trick, though I didn't verify it on an actual image. I've added a section to reconstruct the image in the beginning, because it is easier to work with the array as a whole than broken into parts. Likely, you can refactor this and avoid splitting it to begin with.

If you want to change the pitch of any song at runtime you can simply use the source of type AudioSource that is saved in the sound class and edit it's values directly.

If you then do this as a foreach loop, in your soundManager class, with each song in your array, you can pitch down all of them.
