            QUESTION

Building Electron with Ionic2, serialport, and electron-builder
            Asked 2017-Jul-02 at 20:54

I'm not sure which of the platforms / tools is the root of my problem so asking this question on SO rather than the issues of one of the Git-Hub repositories. I'm trying to develop a project based on Polyonic. Polyonic itself is a kind of seed mashup of Electron and Ionic2. My project also uses node-serialport, which is a Native Module.

My development versions are: - Node 7.4.0 - Electron 1.6.10

... and running ionic info in the src folder of my project gives:

            ...

If you will send me project in next hour, I will investigate what's wrong. You don't need to use electron-rebuild — electron-builder rebuilds automatically. (I am electron-builder maintainer.)

            Install Polyonic

Polyonic is an Electron Ionic application shell for creating Web Apps, Progressive Mobile Web Apps, Native Mobile Apps and Desktop Apps. This project combines the Electron Framework with the Ionic Framework and provides a starter for building out an app that can run on either the desktop (macOS, Windows and Linux), a browser or mobile devices (iOS and Android). You can use this application to build and run on one or all of these platforms.
The dependencies for this project are Node.js, Ionic Framework and Cordova. You will need the latest Node 14 LTS and NPM 7 installed. Make sure you have node installed and running, then install Ionic and Cordova globally using npm. Clone the repo, change into the Polyonic directory, install the npm packages and run the Electron app. You now have Electron and Ionic running as a Desktop app.
