QUESTION
Goal: I have a ball in a triangle. The ball has an initial position and velocity. I'm trying to figure out which side of the triangle the ball will hit.
What I've Tried: I derived a formula that outputs which side the ball will hit, by parametrizing the ball's path and the triangle's sides, and finding the minimum time that satisfies the parametric equations. But when I implement this formula into my program, it produces the wrong results! I've tried many things, to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated. The MWE is here: CodePen

QUESTION
I'm trying to create a triangular grid with HTML and CSS which involves offsetting each successive triangle in the grid to the left by larger and larger amounts so that each triangle fits neatly next to the previous one. Since the amount that each triangle needs to move is based on it's index in the parent container, I'm currently using JS to set this offset. I'm looking for a way to do this with pure CSS. Using JS like this feels like a hack and I'm wondering if I'm missing something in CSS that would let me access each triangle div's index or perhaps there's another way altogether in CSS to achieve what I'm doing.
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Mar-16 at 08:16I created the same result with a negative margin. So the triangles don't have to move an increasing space to the left.

Sorry if my title is difficult to understand.
I've multiple fields named date1, date2... On Change of those fields, I want a full script to run. Today, I have simply copied the code for each dateN I have.
I would like to have a cleaner code and use the next JQuery selector:

QUESTION
I have an h1 element that I want to be invisible and then appear after a few seconds. The element has an ::after pseudo-element that displays a data-text attribute that shadows the h1 element. When I add the animation, I only see the h1 and not the pseudo-element as well. Here is my code
EDIT adding the animation to the pseudo-element makes it appear, but now the data-text appears over the h1 element when originally it is supposed to go behind it. Here are some pic of what is happening. The first is what it is doing and the second is what I want.
EDIT 2 The problem can be recreated by removing the z-index on the pseudo-element.
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Mar-04 at 20:11You need to apply the animation to the pseudo-element as well.
QUESTION
I am trying to display a texture, but for some reason it's not shown correctly it's distorted.
This is my source code:
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-27 at 11:14By default OpenGL assumes that the start of each row of an image is aligned to 4 bytes. This is because the GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT
parameter by default is 4. Since the image has 3 color channels (GL_RGB
), and is tightly packed the size of a row of the image may not be aligned to 4 bytes.
When a RGB image with 3 color channels is loaded to a texture object and 3*width is not divisible by 4, GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT
has to be set to 1, before specifying the texture image with glTexImage2D

QUESTION
I have a class named triangulo, and a class named coord. So, in a way to create a new instance of triangle, I pass three vertex like
t= triangle( V1, V2, V3)
So, for documentation, I want to write the class triangle in this way

Answered 2022-Feb-23 at 04:47You can either wrap the name of the class in quotes
QUESTION
I'm rendering this cube and it should show the front of the cube but instead it shows the back (green color). How do i solve this? I've been sitting for a couple of hours trying to fix this but nothing helped. I was trying various things like changing the order in which the triangles are rendered and it didn't help either. Thanks for any help. Here's my code.
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-17 at 22:40You currently are using glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST)
withglDepthFunc(GL_LESS)
, which means only fragments having a smaller z
(or depth) component are rendered when rendering overlapped triangles. Since your vertex positions are defined with the back-face having a smaller z
coordinate than the front-face, all front-face fragments are ignored (since their z
coordinate is larger).
Solutions are:
- Using
glDepthFunc(GL_GREATER)
instead ofglDepthFunc(GL_LESS)
(which may not work in your case, considering your vertices havez <= 0.0
and the depth buffer is cleared to0.0
) - Modify your vertex positions to give front-face triangles a smaller
z
component than back-face triangles.
I believe that when using matrix transforms, a smaller z
component normally indicates the fragment is closer to the camera, which is why glDepthFunc(GL_LESS)
is often used.
QUESTION
Quick question - title says it all:
In my OpenGL-code (3.3), I'm using the line
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-14 at 15:34Alpha test is a (since ages deprecated) method to only draw fragments when they match some alpha function. Nowadays this can easily be done inside a shader by just discarding the fragments. Alpha testing in itself is also very limited, because it can only decide to draw a fragment or not.
In general, enabling GL_ALPHA_TEST
without setting a proper glAlphaFunc
will do nothing since the default comparison function is GL_ALWAYS
which means that all fragments will pass the test.
Your code doesn't seem to rely on alpha testing, but on blending (I assume that since you are setting the glBlendFunc
). Somewhere in your code there's probably also a glEnable(GL_BLEND)
.
QUESTION
I've built this new ggplot2
geom layer I'm calling geom_triangles
(see https://github.com/ctesta01/ggtriangles/) that plots isosceles triangles given aesthetics including x, y, z
where z
is the height of the triangle and
the base of the isosceles triangle has midpoint (x,y) on the graph.
What I want is for the geom_triangles()
layer to automatically provide legend components for the height and width of the triangles, but I am not sure how to do that.
I understand based on this reference that I may need to adjust the draw_key
argument in the ggproto
StatTriangles
object, but I'm not sure how I would do that and can't seem to find examples online of how to do it. I've been looking at the source code in ggplot2
for the draw_key
functions, but I'm not sure how I would introduce multiple legend components (one for each of height and width) in a single draw_key
argument in the StatTriangles
ggproto
.
ANSWER
Answered 2022-Jan-30 at 18:08I think you might be slightly overcomplicating things. Ideally, you'd just want a single key drawing method for the whole layer. However, because you're using a Stat
to do the majority of calculations, this becomes hairy to implement. In my answer, I'm avoiding this.
Let's say I'd want to use a geom-only implementation of such a layer. I can make the following (simplified) class/constructor pair. Below, I haven't bothered width_scale
or height_scale
parameters, just for simplicity.
