Group Project : Software Engineering - Fall 2020 Oscars Movies API Documentation. The Oscars Movies API utilizes the REST web service in order to take a list of movie entries and output the resulting entries based on the user’s inputted filters such as category and the year the film was created. Included in our API are HTTP GET methods that accept the movie data and return the results as ArrayList objects formatted in JSON. Regarding the GET method, there are seven String parameters passed in for the HTTP requests, representing the following categories from the movie entry data: the year the film was released, the year of the oscars ceremony the nomination was chosen for, the ceremony number the film was present at, the film’s category, the film’s creator, the film’s name, and whether the movie was a winner at its ceremony or not. The methods then return the movie data in the form of an ArrayList object of String arrays to be accessed for use. Example Endpoints GET /movies/all. This endpoint represents and displays all movies and their corresponding entry data that has been entered via a GET request from the client. When calling a GET request, this endpoint will return all movies in the form of an ArrayList object of String arrays. Example Endpoints GET /movies/year_film/1990 GET /movies/year_film/1990/true. The “year_film” path variable represents the year a film premiered, in the format of a String. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input year for “year_film” in place of “{year_film}”; for example, calling the endpoint “/movies/year_film/1990” specifies and returns all films that premiered in 1990. Additionally, “/true” can be attached to the end of the endpoint to specify all winning films that premiered in the specified year value, such as with “/movies/year_film/1990/true”. Example Endpoints GET /movies/year_ceremony/1985 GET /movies/year_ceremony/1985/true. The “year_ceremony” field represents the year of the Oscars ceremony a film was nominated for, formatted as a String. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input value for “year_ceremony” in place of “{year_ceremony}”; calling the endpoint “/movies/year_ceremony/1985”, for example, specifies and returns films that were nominated for the 1985 Oscars ceremony. Additionally, “/true” can be attached to the end of the endpoint to specify all winning films that were nominated for the specified year’s Oscars ceremony, as depicted with “/movies/year_ceremony/1985/true”. Example Endpoints GET /movies/ceremony/46. The “ceremony” field represents the numbered ceremony a film was nominated at, in the form of a String. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input value for “ceremony” in place of “{ceremony}”; calling “/movies/ceremony/46” specifies and returns all films that were nominated for the 46th Oscars Academy Awards. Example Endpoints GET /movies/category/actor. The “category” field represents the category a film or actor/actress was nominated for, formatted as a String. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input value for “category” in place of “{category}”; calling “/movies/category/actor”, for example, specifies and returns all entries in which people were nominated for the ‘actor’ category. Example Endpoints GET /movies/name/John Smith. The “name” field represents the name of the person or group who is responsible for or has worked on the film, formatted as a String. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input value for “name” in place of “{name}”; calling the endpoint “/movies/name/John Smith”, for example, specifies and returns the award entries that the name ‘John Smith’ was nominated for. Example Endpoints GET /movies/film/Titanic GET /movies/film/Titanic/true. The “film” field represents the name of the film that is being nominated for an award, in the form of a String. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input value for “film” in place of “{film}”; calling “/movies/film/Titanic”, for example, specifies and returns all nominations that the film “Titanic” received, regardless of the film winning or not. “/true” can also be attached to the end of the endpoint to specify all winning nominations that the specified film received, as depicted with the example endpoint, “/movies/film/Titanic/true”. Example Endpoints GET /movies/winner/true GET /movies/winner/false. The “winner” field represents whether the specified nomination won an Oscars award or not and can contain either the boolean value “true” or “false”. Entering this endpoint requires the client to identify the input value for “winner” in place of “{winner}”. Calling “/movies/winner/true” specifies and returns all nominations that won an award, whereas calling “/movies/winner/false” returns all nominations that did not receive an award.

QUESTION
I'm building an app where I have a page which gives information about a specific trading card. I want the page to be scrollable, but I also want to have a grid on the page, with each grid cell showing one data point. I made the grid using GridView.count().
My problem is that instead of have a page which I can scroll through, the top half of the page stays static, while the grid is scrollable. How do I make the grid static, while the rest of the page scrollable? I intend to have more data below this grid as well, and I want to user to be able to scroll to see all of it, with the grid being a static component of the page.
Here's my code:
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-06 at 09:47You can provide physics: NeverScrollableScrollPhysics()
on GridView
to disable scroll effect. If you want scrollable as secondary widget use primary: false,
To have Full Page scrollable, you can use body:SingleChildScrollView(..)
or better using body:CustomScrollView(..)
QUESTION
I am posting this question to help future readers. After upgrading to Flutter 2.8
I suddenly got this error when trying to run my app:
ANSWER
Answered 2021-Dec-26 at 14:20Turns out this error was caused by a popular library I used (settings_ui
) that does not work with this version of Flutter (settings_ui: ^1.0.0
).
For future readers: Use a later version of this package. There is currently an open issue on github that addresses this.
Update 2022: Dev on settings_ui seems to have gone AWOL and no longer merging PR's the community has forked this project to: https://pub.dev/packages/flutter_settings_ui and here updates are properly merged and a fix has been released in version 1.0.1
For people facing this issue now:
As a monkey patch you can follow the steps in the GitHub issue and edit the package files locally:
In cupertino_settings_item.dart
change final ListTileTheme tileTheme = ListTileTheme.of(context);
to final tileTheme = ListTileTheme.of(context);
And change _iconColor(ThemeData theme, ListTileTheme tileTheme)
to _iconColor(ThemeData theme, ListTileThemeData tileTheme)
.

QUESTION
I am fairly new to the Firemonkey framework after working with VCL for many years so hopefully this question is not too simple.
I am listing Dynamic Listview Items which I update from a database. I have created the position/layout of the text within the Listview Item using design mode . My question is when I change screen orientation from portrait to landscape do I have to manually change the 'X' position of the text items located within my listview and their width so that the full landscape width of the screen is utilized? There appears to be no anchors for dynamically created Listview items. (The text items just have their generic names for the time being.)
I have a pic below of what I am trying to describe. First pic shows deign mode in portrait and second in landscape.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Answered 2021-Dec-22 at 23:30The Accessory
, Detail
and Text
items have an Align
property that can take values Center
, Leading
or Trailing
. They are recalculated and adjust their position with changes in the screen orientation.
Additionally some items have a separate property, TextAlign
, which sets the position for a text within the space of the Align
result.

QUESTION
I have a mobile application developed using Ionic. Now I want to redevelop it in flutter and publish a new update, would that be possible? will google play and AppStore allow that?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Dec-17 at 19:07There is no constraint on development language. But,
- You need to use same certificates/keys for iOS App
- You need to use same key-store/keys for Android App
- If you are using local database or file storage, then you should follow the same path in your newly created app as well. If you are using any third-party library to manage the db or file paths, then it may be in different location altogether. (This one actually happened to me. When I migrated my app from a cross-platform framework to Native the database path got changed in release version)
