Airflow via docker-compose keeps trying to access sqlite although postgres configured
            Asked 2021-Mar-13 at 19:45

I try to set up a Dockerized airflow instance, but whatever I do (so far..) it keeps trying to access some sqlite3 database where I do not know where the instruction comes from. I point to the Postgres instance everywhere (deemed) possible through AIRFLOW__CORE__SQL_ALCHEMY_CONN, and even AIRFLOW_CONN_METADATA_DB.

A typical error message when starting up is like:

Solved by following this docker-compose.yaml file:

            https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/master/docs/apache-airflow/start/docker-compose.yaml

And instead of trying to tweak the ports of postgres (and redis) used the "expose" option, which avoids conflicts with other containers on the same host.

            So not:

After adding the following two environments variable the airflow is now taking the backend database as Postgres:

            EC2 and key_pair - How to use different ssh_key
            Asked 2020-Nov-26 at 16:04

I build a little plateforme on AWS using Terraform script. There is, for now, one EC2 where I can ssh. I have filled the variable key_name in a aws_instance to do that.

How can I do to add another ssh_key if I want a colleague to ssh to the instance too ? key_name accept a string and not a list.

The configuration through the API allows only for one keypair. However, you can manually (or via a script) add a second user account with their own keys. Please have a look at How do I add new user accounts with SSH access to my Amazon EC2 Linux instance?

Having that said, it is recommended to log into the instances using AWS Systems Manager Session Manager instead of direct SSH. This way you can control access to the instances through IAM policies and don't need to expose the SSH port to the internet.

docker-compose Unknown MySQL server host 'mysql' (airflow)
            Asked 2017-Oct-03 at 10:08

I try to create my Airflow service. When I run three dockers separately (without docker-compose) everything works but when I try to do the same using docker-compose I get the error. It seems that airflow doesn't see database.

So the error is a bit misleading. The connect is failing because of the DB not being there, not that mysql host is not there.
