Correctly initializing the store on the server for SSR of React.JS app made with ConnectedRouter
            Asked 2021-Feb-03 at 22:50

I am trying to do SSR for a React App made with Redux, Saga, and ConnectedRouter. I found a couple of relevant examples, specifically https://github.com/mnsht/cra-ssr and https://github.com/noveogroup-amorgunov/react-ssr-tutorial

Those I understand supposed to work. I am however having a problem hooking state and history.

            Crash inside React Frontload
            Asked 2021-Jan-24 at 04:50

I am having a problem while trying to add server-side-rendering to my CRA app made with ConnectedRouter. I found an example of an app made with a similar architecture at https://github.com/mnsht/cra-ssr

My code is very similar, albeit slightly different in a couple of places. The example - cra-ssr loader.js makes store from the current URL as: const { store } = createStore(req.url);. I have const { store } = createStore(); right now. Don't believe that it should be causing problems.

My createStore() is essentially the same, see below:

Solved the problem by downgrading from 2.x.x version of react-frontload to 1.0.3. Now, it is working fine.

Impossible to know exactly what this issue is coming from without full overview of the project or unless someone has had the exact error message before.

Possibilities: Avoid using CRA's <% GLOBAL VARIABLE %> syntax. Babel + Typescript will only work if its implemented on your backend I.E Your backend actually gets compiled through babel.

            Solutions:

In my honest opinion as someone who has done 1000+ hrs of configuring server side rendering it is by far the hardest thing to setup and manage yourself, The example's React has on their documentation website does in no way reflect anyone's actual real-world setups where you have css + code splitting + dynamic loading assets + authentication + need to hydrate redux from the server + need to have static routing on backend and dynamic routing on frontend.

The solution is to consider something like NextJS9 where it has out-of-the-box Typescript support, inbuilt server (each file under /api/x becomes a route) automaticaly code splitting and server side rendering. (For reference https://nextjs.org/)

If this solution doesn't work for you let me know and i will build a demo project with typescript + babel + frontend/backend + react.

React Loadable SSR isn't always giving client complete list of bundles, leading to page flash
            Asked 2018-Oct-30 at 14:05

I've been struggling for the last few days to eliminate page flash. My project started with create-react-app, then I used help to set up SSR and various other options. When I started running into problems, I stripped my code down and ejected. Here is my code. You can build with npm run build and start the SSR with npm run serve. Visit http://localhost:3000/ to see the result.

There are two routes in my app: Home and About.

Going to / (Home) works as desired: react-loadable identifies the home bundle, injects a

            Answered 2018-Oct-30 at 14:05

This happens because react-loadable don't have a nice and deep implementation for server side rendering.

But the good news is, there's an add-on for that, it is called react-loadable-ssr-addon.

In the plugin repository it says:

React Loadable SSR Add-on is a server side render add-on for React Loadable that helps you to load dynamically all files dependencies, e.g. splitted chunks, css, etc.

Oh yeah, and we also provide support for SRI (Subresource Integrity).

So basically this plugin handle everything regarding the assets situation for server side rendering in react, reproducing the same behaviour as the tradicional approach (client side render).

With that, your assets are managed and loaded automatically to your output, avoiding the error you reported.

Dynamic import doesn't work with combined CRA and SSR
            Asked 2018-Apr-19 at 10:17

I've created a website with create-react-app and now I want to use server side rendering because of seo.

After a long research I've found a simple tool here.

It works fine but in my code I have a dynamic import await import("localization/" + newLanguage + "/" + newLanguage + ".json"); and because of that I get a SyntaxError: Unexpected token import error.

I've also tried using System.import. That worked for SSR but CRA says 'System.import' is restricted from being used. Please use import() instead..

How can I solve this problem? I don't want to eject or similiar and hold it easy.

I've used the syntax-dynamic-import plugin from babel. With dynamic-import-node from airbnb it works.
