Android Studio 3.1: Erroneous unresolved references in editor

I'm running Ubuntu 17.10, and I've just updated Android Studio from version 3.0.1 to 3.1. Here's the version information in Help -> About:

Answered 2018-Apr-01 at 07:12- Exit Studio.
- Delete .idea/ (seems to me that's most important), build/, app/build directories.
- Start Studio
- Set Settings -> Build -> Gradle settings back (last stable Gradle local distribution in my case).
- Clean&rebuild project.
