however this is not working and the page is reloading on submission anyway
here is my code:

Answered 2021-Jun-12 at 23:14You have a typo in onsbumit
. Change it to onSubmit
. Remember that React is using JSX, so even though the code looks like HTML, it is actually JavaScript.
QUESTION
I've been following this tutorial to connect my React app to Firebase. However, I'd like to refactor the "withAuthentication" component to be functional, like the rest of my app.
The component I get as a result of following the tutorial is:

QUESTION
I have followed the official tutorial of Bit for React. And the result is here: https://bit.dev/vibe/react-admin-components/action-buttons
The problem is, I can not install the above component in another project as a npm package. It says React is undefined
when run time (not build time) with this import: import ActionButtons from '@bit/vibe.react-admin-components.components';
I believe this is a happy case, there is no magic here. Maybe babel is the issue here when I use React 17
and babel 7
.
Any idea will be highly appreciated.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jan-17 at 15:56The error React is undefined
means that your default Bit compiler for React isn't configured correctly to support the new JSX transformer.
Steps to fix
- Fork the default Bit compiler follow this guideline
- Update the forked compiler's
.babelrc
to use automatic runtime follow the section Configuration here. Note that you have to upgrade the@babel/preset-react
dependency of the compiler to >=7.9.0 - Rebuild your component using the new compiler
- Export that component again and enjoy
QUESTION
I am just trying to clone this repo: https://github.com/oceanprotocol/react-tutorial
when I run the app I get the following stack trace:
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Dec-14 at 06:14Looks like the package that this tutorial is using is now deleted. (Squid.js)
And regarding why its giving TypeError
because whatwg-url
is a dependency pacakge of squid.js and whatwg-url
is expecting an Object and its receiving undefined or null. May be squid.js internally calls some external url/api for creating an instance.
Instead of using :
import { Ocean } from '@oceanprotocol/squid'
.
Use this :
react-tutorial repo has not been updated to support the V3 version of ocean protocol : https://github.com/oceanprotocol/react-tutorial/issues/14
import { Ocean } from '@oceanprotocol/react'
NPM : npm install @oceanprotocol/react
https://www.npmjs.com/package/@oceanprotocol/react
Github Documentation : https://github.com/oceanprotocol/ocean.js
Hope this helps !! Cheers.
QUESTION
I've started to learn React and tried to make an household book, which is based on the code of an Todo App of the MDN-React-Tutorial (https://github.com/mdn/todo-react/blob/master/src/components/Todo.js)
I got stuck at editing the inputs from the entries. In difference to a todo-app I want to edit several inputs at the same time and update these entries with the entered inputs.
I'm pretty sure that there is a mistake at the editTask()-Function, but I can't spot the mistake! I really appreciate your help!
This is what my code looks like!

QUESTION
To briefly describe my goals --
- I have an external React component library of ~70 React components, which feeds a web frontend (Websphere Commerce site, which pulls in Experience Fragments via AJAX calls to get the fragment HTML), and also a React Native app. So for the web, AEM is basically the content engine which feeds our headless frontend.
- I'd like to use those same React components to feed the AEM Experience Fragment authoring experience, instead of having to rebuild each React component as an HTL template within AEM -- it's too much overhead to maintain a completely separate component library of HTL templates
- By following the official Adobe tutorial here, I see how it is possible to map React components to the Content Fragment authoring experience. By which I mean, if I go to AEM Home > Sites > (my site) > create a new fragment, the component I drag in is fed by a React template. I can tell, because the markup matches what is in my
BasicComponent.js
React template in ui.frontend, and not thebasic-component.html
template in ui.apps. - But, if I go to AEM Home > Experience Fragments > create a new fragment, that same
BasicComponent
component will pull from thebasic-component.html
file in the component folder (next to .content.xml), instead of fromBasicComponent.js
I'm new to AEM, so hopefully the above makes sense. I know I am missing something pretty fundamental re: how Experience Fragments differ from Content Fragments (if that is the right term). I've spent a lot of time Googling around for information, but I'm finding that my own ignorance is making it difficult for me to determine if what I'm reading is or is not a clue to solving my issue.
This is the repo that I pulled down to experiment with: https://github.com/drginm/aem-react-simple-example
Any help much appreciated! I'm sure I'm not the only AEM newbie looking for an approachable model for handling this situation.
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Sep-18 at 18:15Experience Fragments is not recommended used with ajax html in headless architecture, it should be exposed via sling model exporter in json format for the react consumption.
To edit and modify the experience fragments AEM doesn't provide any APIs, AEM developer should give custom REST APIs to do the changes.
I would recommend to go with the content fragments where the CRUD operation is possible via Assets api in AEM.

QUESTION
I want to add multiple observer functions to a React component. I use Firebase authentication and want to trigger actions
- when the user first signs in or out: onauthstatechanged
- everytime the idToken changes: onidtokenchanged
For this component I followed this tutorial:

is the component instance, but listener is unrelated to React; it's an arbitrary instance variable name. You won't find anything in React documentation about it because it's not specific to React. The second time you assign this.listener = you are writing to the same variable and losing the reference to the onAuthStateChanged handler.
The solution is to define two different arbitrary variables that are assigned to the component class:

You declare a function async
when you want to use await
inside that function to wait for an asynchronous call to return. I don't think you can use async
on componentDidMount
but you can use a promise instead:
QUESTION
I have some question.
I had started React tutorial this page. And I created React project by using 'create-react-app' and delete some files (/src/App.js .. etc.). Finally I written code below and running code.
index.html
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Apr-13 at 07:04If you are using create-react-app
to bootstrap your project then you need to be aware that create-react-app
has a couple of things abstracted, which makes it easy to create a react app without having to bother about scripts, configuration and build tools.
From the Docs, it was stated that for the project to build, these files must exist with exact filenames:
public/index.html
is the page template;
src/index.js
is the JavaScript entry point.
Here's a link to the Getting Started guide, I hope this helps. Good luck!
P.S From your code - index.js
, I can see you still have a reference to index.css
, just wanted to point this out since you said you deleted everything. You might also want to take out the two tags in the index.html file which is referencing an image and the manifest.json file from the
public
folder (if they don't exist anymore)
