Database:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 11:53You are writing message.text
into the database inside the photo
function. However, that function is only triggered for messages containing a photo
. When the message
contains a photo, message.text is None
. Any caption the photo might have will be in message.caption
.
QUESTION
I'm following a tutorial about RecyclerView, but I can't write ct:
the way he did. I typed in manually, but it does not work. I'm not sure how he typed it. He typed in this
, then android studio writes ct:
automatically. What do I need to type to do that?
MyAdapter is a class I created for RecyclerView. Here is the code for that class:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 19:45The little lighter colored "ct" prompt is just a visual aid and it does not always show up. When you provide a raw value as an argument, it will show the prompt (like this, 1, or "foo"). When you provide a variable for the argument like ctx, foo, etc, it does not show up. This goes for all functions that take arguments.
The moral of the story is, it is not important and can be ignored.
QUESTION
I'm new to Kotlin and i'm playing a bit with android studio from few days. This is the class i'm dealing with:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 18:10let
returns the result of last expression inside it, in this case the value of builder.create()
, a non-nullable AlertDialog.
Since you use ?.let
, if activity
is null, let
won't be called, and you will effectively have null ?: throw...
.
builder.create()
never returns null, so this throw
expression is only reached when activity
is null, so the error message doesn't make sense.

I am using Visual Studio code for learning python, but I am unable to use the input function (in python). All other functions work properly. I am using python 3.9.2 and I have also installed the python extension in my VS Code. Here is an image of my code.
I face that problem only when I use input function; otherwise it works properly. This problem occurred only in Visual Studio Code, while if I work on Python champ the same code works properly.

I am having problems restarting the emulator after turning it off. Restarting android studio - doesn't help. Restarting my computer helps. I also cannot find and [stop this process] through the task manager. So that I can not reboot. By the way, the error is displayed with a typo. Help. Who faced such a problem, how to solve it?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 14:21On Windows, the software that runs the Android Emulator is called "qemu-system-x86_64.exe".
Try to kill this software. You can use the built-in taskkill
utility from within the Command Prompt:
- Open the Command Prompt (Type in CMD into the Windows search)
- Enter:
taskkill /F /IM "qemu-system-x86_64.exe" /T

QUESTION
This morning I created an MSTest project in C#, and for one of the JSON resources, Visual Studio is showing this warning:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Feb-02 at 17:38Apparently all you have to do is to close out the file. It seems to only show when the file is opened.
Perhaps a later version of Visual Studio can make this warning behave more consistently with a standard warning in VS. Really it behaves very much like a refactoring / code cleanup suggestion (which commonly has a grey, squiggly line), rather than an actual warning. It's like it's just been mislabeled in development or whatever. However the good thing is that as long as the file is closed, it doesn't pollute the build or the errors window with warning messages.
QUESTION
I've upgraded to the M1 chip 2020 Macbook Air from a 7th gen. Intel chip pc. Overall, I'm very happy and content with it but when it comes to Android Studio performance, which I use quite often, it is very disappointing I'm sorry to say. When will an Apple Silicon compatible version be available? Are any of you guys have any clue?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Apr-11 at 08:34use Intellij CE the latest version released on April 6th has native support for m1 and its very fast and intuitive, i've been using it and it's not very different from android studio
QUESTION
I am trying to work with Jenkins however I cannot build the apk with it as I am having issue with AAPT2 and Gradle.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 11:49You need to replace \
with \\
if you are giving path with jenkins in Windows.
May be if file path is too huge or that is the root cause you can try mounting the directory to a short path
EDIT : Based on your modified question :
Open Jenkins dashboard. Navigate to Manage Jenkins-> Configure System
. Under the Global properties section
add another environment variable
named GRADLE_USER_HOME
as shown below.

Install studio
Fulfill the dependencies with npm install and bower install. Then let's assume you did some changes to the code, you want to check for regressions. You need to either run grunt clean build test:ui:dev(test is a predefined task of grunt, and already runs some syntax check on the code).
