While using Circleci 1.0 I could see git commit messages in slack notifications in the slack channel by adding the slack webhook url to the circleci project settings.

With Circleci 2.0 ui, we can't use the webhook option as default. Instead, we can use the slack-orb to get notification from the Circleci in slack. But after migrating to the slack-orb, I can't see the commit messages anymore.

Interesting questions it is. I was also stuck with this kind of issue. It was the problem since the CircleCI UI was upgraded and we could use only Slack orb for Slack notifications.
