QUESTION
I have a dataset with the name of Danish ministers and their position from 1990 to 2020 (data comes from dataset called WhoGovern; https://politicscentre.nuffield.ox.ac.uk/whogov-dataset/). The dataset consists of the ministers name
, the ministers position
, the prestige
of that position, and the year
in which the minister had that given position.
My problem is that some ministers are counted twice in the same year (i.e., the rows aren't unique in terms of name
and year
). See the example in the picture below, where "Bertel Haarder" was both Minister of Health and Minister of Interior Affairs in 2010 and 2021.
I want to create a dataset, where all the rows are unique combinations of name
and year
. However, I do not want to remove any information from the dataset. Instead, I want to use the information in the prestige
column to combine the duplicated rows into one. The observations with the highest prestige should be the main observations, where the other information should be added in a new column, e.g., position2
and prestige2
. In the example with Bertel Haarder the data should look like this:
(PS: Sorry for bad presenting of the tables, but didn't know how to create a nice looking table...)
Here's the dataset for creating a reproducible example with observations from 2010-2020:

and the other for prestige_1

QUESTION
I am trying to use JOOQ code generation from JPA Entity. I have already created a dedicated maven module where the code will be generated which has dependency on a module containing all entities as well code generation plugin with of jooq.
To add more clarify on project structure, here are the modules:(The names are made up but the structure reflects the current project i am working on)
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-02 at 07:53I'm assuming you have missing dependencies on your code generation class path. Once you update your question, I'll update my answer.
Regarding jOOQ code generation support for@TypeDef
etc.
jOOQ won't support your generated composite types in generated code out of the box, you'll still have to add forced type configurations for that, possibly embeddable type configurations:
- https://www.jooq.org/doc/latest/manual/code-generation/codegen-embeddable-types/
Note that the JPADatabase
offers a quick win by integrating with simple JPA defined schemas very quickly. It has its caveats. For best results, I recommend going DDL first (and generate both jOOQ code and JPA model from that), because it will be much easier to put your schema change management under version control, e.g. via Flyway or Liquibase.
QUESTION
So, I am working on an MVVM-based core SDK for use any time I am developing some Google Apps Script based software, called OpenSourceSDK

ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-13 at 22:53I was able to get it resolved, but the solution is...hacky.
So, apparently, Google Apps Script exports only what is in globalThis
of a project: just the function
s and var
iables. No class
es, no const
ants, ...
Probably has a lot to do with how ES6 works, with its globalThis
behavior. One can see that in action, by creating a dummy function
, a dummy var
iable, and a dummy class
in their local developer console:
QUESTION
I am new to AWS VPC and exploring everything about it. I understood that VPC is majorly used to have a secure and isolated environment. What are the different use cases for AWS VPC in the area of Data Analytics? I have a data lake pipeline currently which is as follows:
- Extract data using APIs
- Store raw data in S3
- Create Lambda functions or Glue Jobs to perform business metrics
- Store metric outputs in S3
- Create tables in Athena for all the data stored in S3
- Import tables in Quicksight to produce business insights from visuals
In this process how can VPC be used or make this process efficient/better?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 07:40The services you mention (mostly) live outside of VPCs.
VPCs are used for services that use virtual computers, such as Amazon EC2 computers and Amazon RDS databases.
By using services that don't involve specific 'computers' (such as Amazon S3, Athena, QuickSight) you can take advantage of much lower costs, paying only what you use. These services do not mimic traditional servers and therefore don't need VPCs. All the networking complexity is hidden and you can concentrate on using the service instead of running a network.
Yes, VPCs add extra security, but that's only because resources on a VPC need securing due to potential security holes. The services you mention are all secured via IAM and do not expose themselves outside the published APIs.
QUESTION
I developed an app in german (de-DE) and in order to translate the captions, I added the TranslationFile feature in my app.json.
This generates a translation file, where the source-language is "en-US":
Not thinking much about it, I changed the source-language to "de-DE" since my captions are in german and I want them to be translated to english.
Hence:
The problem that I now have, is that when I publish my extension and switch between english and german as my language in business central, all I get are the english captions.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 06:38The source language will always be "en-US" meaning translations will be from English (United States) to some other language.
The captions in your source code thus needs to be in English (United States) and then you add the translation file for the german language.

QUESTION
I grouped a dataframe test_df2
by frequency 'B'
(by business day, so each name of the group is the date of that day at 00:00) and am now looping over the groups to calculate timestamp differences and save them in the dict grouped_bins
. The data in the original dataframe and the groups looks like this:
What I want is to calculate the difference between each row's timestamp
, for example of rows 7
and 0
, since they have the same externalId
.
What I did for that purpose is the following.

Install business
You can use business like any standard Java library. Please include the the jar files in your classpath. You can also use any IDE and you can run and debug the business component as you would do with any other Java program. Best practice is to use a build tool that supports dependency management such as Maven or Gradle. For Maven installation, please refer maven.apache.org. For Gradle installation, please refer gradle.org .
